Strathaven
Inspired by all things Hawaii. A bathroom oasis for a couple of kids to relax, take the day’s worries away and give them a sense of renewal.
Say Aloha to vibrant colors that mimic the blues of the ocean, yellow oranges of the sunset and pinks of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. Balance is created through the use of pattern in the wallpaper, repetition of circles found in the penny floor tile and clean horizon lines found in the wall subway tile. Acrylic shelves serve as reminders of crystal clear waters at the beach. Hawaiian textures like grass skirts are found on the floor with the tasseled bath mat. Towel hooks float on the walls like surfboards in the water. The space is anchored by a blue vanity to house all the essentials. Gold faucets and finishes tie everything together creating a refined and sophisticated kids’ space, a nod to the history of Hawaiian royalty.
The kids specified two must haves:
1) Include a shower curtain…Yes, done, no problem, and;
2) Include a flower somewhere…designed one to be within the floor tile using six pink penny tiles.
This design invites you in with a fun and warm island whimsy to help you feel fresh and rejuvenated every time you start and finish your days.
